Rodrigo,
Thanks for helping out!
We had already tried something similar earlier but it did not work out...
We can't do that since this is a lowest level ingredient in almost every material. Almost half of the inventory was consumed in numerous materials. We tried moving the inventory to a cost center using 201/202, moved consumption to an open process order using 262/261, carried out single level, multi-level. The whole price/exchange rate differences were in cost center. None of these price differences were rolled up to other higher level materials.
Then we moved consumption and inventory back using the reversal of the original movements. We couldn't close the material the standard way (CKMI) since single/multi levels were reset and we had to carry them out before we could close. So we thought we were being smart to force close it using ML Help Desk. This really screwed the whole thing royally! It did not carry over any of the price/exchange rate differences of the problem ingredient material to the next period. But price/exchange rate differences were allocated to all other materials. Now we could not even reverse the forced closing.
We have a truck load of materials with bogus price & exchange rate differences.
Hope you and many other ML experts shed some light on how to find a way out of this mess.
Cheers,
TD
